On July 22, 2016, the first meeting of the organizing committee of the DAAL XIII was held, in which proposals for the application for the candidacy of the event in Peru were presented. In addition, the possible thematic axes, the place of the event, the date, among others were discussed. The meeting was held at the Oriente headquarters of the University of Antioquia, Medellín and counted with the participation of professors from different universities in Colombia; Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana, Industrial University of Santander, National University of Colombia, University of Ibagué, Redbiocol, EAN University, Javeriana University and University of Antioquia.
