Dr. Adalberto Noyola is an environmental engineer with a PhD in wastewater treatment engineering from INSA-Toulouse, France. He is a senior researcher and former Head of the Institute of Engineering (2008-2016) at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). His work has focused on developing research for providing innovative solutions for wastewater and sludge treatment by biological processes. At present, his research projects deal with anaerobic processes (wastewater treatment, sludge digestion, membrane bioreactors, methane biofiltration) and the determination of methane emission factors from municipal wastewater treatment facilities. He is an associate editor for Water Science & Technology since 2011, and Chemosphere since 2016.
